Terms of Use
Last updated 12 October 2026
- EventMe is a platform. Organisers run their events and are responsible for them; we sell tickets on their behalf.
- Buyers pay the ticket price plus a booking fee that is shown before payment.
- Payments are processed by Paystack. We never see or store your card details.
- Be honest and respectful. We review content and can remove anything that breaks these terms.

1. Who we are
EventMe (“we”, “us”) runs the website www.eventme.fit, where people discover African events and talent, buy tickets, and where organisers publish events, sell tickets and check guests in. By using EventMe you agree to these terms, our Ticket and Refund Policy and our Privacy Policy.
2. Your account
- You must be at least 18 years old to buy tickets or sell tickets, or have permission from a parent or guardian.
- Give true details and keep your password private. You are responsible for what happens on your account.
- Tell us straight away at support@eventme.fit if you think someone else is using your account.
3. Buying tickets
- The organiser named on the event page is the seller of the event and is responsible for running it as described. EventMe sells the ticket on the organiser’s behalf and provides the ticket, the QR code and the check in tools.
- Before you pay you see the ticket price, the booking fee and the total. Prices are in South African rand (ZAR) and include any VAT the organiser charges.
- Your ticket is confirmed only once Paystack confirms the payment. We then email your ticket with its QR code, and it stays under My Tickets.
- Each QR code can be used once to enter. Do not share it: the first person to scan in is let in. Tickets may not be resold for more than the price paid.
- Organisers may refuse entry for safety reasons, age limits shown on the event, or behaviour that puts others at risk.
- Refunds follow our Ticket and Refund Policy.
4. Publishing events and selling tickets
- Events are reviewed before they go live. Event details, prices, dates and images must be true and not misleading, and you must have the right to use any photos or names you publish.
- You are responsible for running your event safely and legally, including permits, venue capacity, age limits and any taxes on your ticket income.
- To sell tickets you add your bank details. Paystack, our payment partner, creates a payout account for you and pays you directly. You agree to Paystack’s terms for that account.
- If you cancel or postpone an event you must tell us at once and honour the refunds described in our Ticket and Refund Policy. Money for refunds may be taken from your payouts.
- Your event team members act for you. You are responsible for who you add.
5. Fees and payouts
- Listing events and selling free tickets on EventMe is free.
- On paid tickets the buyer pays a booking fee on top of the ticket price, currently 5% of the price plus R5. The booking fee is EventMe’s income and pays for the platform, the ticketing and support.
- Paystack charges a processing cost on each payment, which is taken from the organiser’s share. Paystack pays organisers into their bank account on its normal payout schedule, usually the next working day.
- We may change our fees for the future. Changes never affect tickets already sold, and we tell organisers at least 14 days before.
6. Voting rooms and awards
Votes must be cast honestly, one person per vote unless the room states otherwise. Using fake accounts, scripts or bought votes is not allowed and such votes can be removed. The organiser of a vote or award is responsible for its rules and its result.
7. Content and conduct
- You keep ownership of what you post. You give EventMe permission to show it on the platform and to use it to promote the event or talent it relates to.
- Do not post anything false, hateful, harassing, sexual involving minors, illegal or that infringes someone else’s rights, and do not try to break or misuse the platform.
- We may remove content, suspend accounts or stop ticket sales that break these terms or put people at risk.
8. Liability
We work hard to keep EventMe available and accurate, but we cannot promise it will always be free of errors or interruptions. The organiser, not EventMe, is responsible for the event itself, including its content, safety and any changes to it. As far as the law allows, EventMe is not responsible for indirect losses such as travel or accommodation costs linked to an event. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008 or other law that cannot be excluded.
9. Changes and ending your account
We may update these terms. When the changes are important we will tell you by email or on the site before they apply. You can close your account at any time by contacting us; tickets you already bought stay valid.
10. Law and disputes
These terms are governed by the law of the Republic of South Africa. If something goes wrong, contact us first at support@eventme.fit and we will try to solve it within 10 business days. You may also approach the National Consumer Commission or another competent body.
